Who’s responsible for your information

Dashcam Fitting 4u is run by Aaron, a sole trader based in South Yorkshire. We decide how the details you send us are used, so under UK data protection law we’re the controller. To ask anything about your information, email [email protected] or call 07424 359213.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry through the form, we receive:

• your name and phone number
• your email address, if you give one
• your town or postcode
• your vehicle, the equipment and what needs fitting
• anything else you choose to write, and how you’d like us to reply

If you call, text or email us instead, we receive what you tell us that way. When we fit something, we’ll also have the details of the job and what you paid.

Stopping spam

Before an enquiry is accepted, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that it was sent by a person rather than a bot. To do that, Cloudflare looks at technical details such as your IP address and browser. We also limit how many enquiries can be sent in an hour. For that we keep scrambled one-way codes (hashes) made from your IP address, your browser and your email address, which can’t be turned back into the originals. The IP address codes are deleted automatically after an hour. The browser and email codes are stored with your enquiry.

Why we use it, and the law that allows it

• To reply, give you a price and do the work. This is needed to take the steps you’ve asked for before an agreement, and then to carry it out.
• To keep business and tax records. The law requires us to keep them.
• To keep the form free of spam and misuse. This is in our legitimate interests, and the checks use as little information as they can.

We don’t use your details for marketing, we don’t add you to a mailing list, and we never sell them.

Who else handles it

Cloudflare hosts this website, stores enquiries in its database and runs the Turnstile check. It handles your details on our instructions. It may process data outside the UK, and when it does, it uses the safeguards UK law requires. Wohii built this website and looks after it for us, and may see enquiries only to keep the site working. We’ll only share your details with anyone else if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

If an enquiry doesn’t lead to a job, we delete it once we no longer need it to deal with your enquiry. If we do work for you, we keep the job record for as long as HMRC requires, which is at least five years after the 31 January tax return deadline for that year. After that, we delete it.

Cookies

This website doesn’t use cookies for visitors, and has no analytics or advertising trackers. The Turnstile check on the form uses only what it needs for security. The one cookie the site does set is for the owner’s login to read enquiries, and it’s never set for visitors. Links to Google, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Nextdoor take you to those sites, which have their own privacy policies.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you. You can also ask us to correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, or object to how we use it. You can ask for it in a format you can take elsewhere too. Just email or call us. It’s free, and we’ll reply within one month.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) on 0303 123 1113.
